TRAVEL
SPENT a delightful and relaxing few days at the 4-star Island Hotel in Newport Beach, minutes from Fashion Island, with its fahionable international boutiques , its leading stores, restaurants and cinemas.
The Island Hotel is the finest I have stayed at among the many of Europe’s best hotels I have visited. And with Fashion Island at its doorstep, the hotel is the ideal getaway for a weekend break or a vacation, with all that Newport Beach has to offer – just a one hour drive from Los Angeles.
AWARD-WINNING

The award-winning 20-storey hotel has 295 guest rooms, including 64 Executive Suites and 19 luxury suites, with ocean views of the Pacific and Catalina Island.. Originally the Four Seasons, its owners, the Irvine Company, assumed management in Nov. 2003, refurbished the property and renamed it the Island Hotel.
The decor is pleasing to the eye, with its extensive and elegant marble entrance, making guests from all over the world, including Britain, feel very comfortable from the moment they arrive.
Rooms are spacious and beautifully furnished to give one the feeling of informality. The extremely comfortable beds have the finest of matresses, sheets and pillows, and relaxes you within minutes. The marble bathrooms have numerous amenities, and housekeeping services are par- excellence. Staff are friendly and warm, and make one feel “right at home.”
Facilities include a heated pool with cabanas, a fully equipped fitness centre, including personal trainers.
The very popular Spa has nine luxurious treatment rooms offering more than 30 different types of massages, body treatments, facials and manicures, for both men and women.

When it comes to dining, the hotel’s elegant and comfortable Palm Terrace, overlooking the gardens, offers a menu of exciting dishes from acclaimed chef Bill Bracken who presents a variety of his lovely presentations. And pastry chef Michael Owen’s eye-popping creations are simply mouth-watering.
On Sundays and Mondays a special Signature dinner menu is offered, with a 50% discount on all the dishes. It’s an unbeatable bargain and brings in many of the locals.
