Coronation Street Monthly Update September 2012

THIS MONTH in Corrie, Rob takes on Eva as the new knicker stitcher at the factory but she’s all fingers and thumbs. Fortunately for Eva, they’re not the body parts Rob’s interested in and she carries on stitching, much to his delight. It’s fair to say, however, that the factory girls are less impressed with the boobs that Eva is making in her new job.
Thrown out of her parent’s home for being nasty and bad, Tracy slums it in a bad dressing gown and a scowl next door with Emily and Norris. But she doesn’t last there long before even saintly Emily loses her temper with Tracy after she ruins a pair of dancing shoes belonging to Emily’s late husband Ernest. Norris isn’t best pleased with Tracy either when she offers to do the cleaning. He doesn’t want her in his room or anywhere near his stuff and gets Jason to fit a lock to his bedroom door. But while Norris is inside his room, Tracy locks him in there. Soon after, Emily tells Tracy it’d be best if she found somewhere else to live.
Ryan Connor returns this month, played by a new actor. This time around, Ryan’s all muscles, angst, and oh dearie me, comes complete with a cocaine addiction. He’s a bad ‘un and no mistake. But as Steve McDonald wants to get back with Ryan’s mum Michelle, he’s going out all out to help Ryan in the hope it’ll help him back get into Michelle’s good books. And so Steve gets Ryan a job at Streetcars but doesn’t realise that Ryan’s spending his advances on wages on something that’s going straight up his nose.
Tyrone’s violence at the hands of Kirsty takes a sinister turn this month when she wallops him with the attachment from the hoover. It’s not that little bit you add to the end of the hoover tube when you’re doing the stairs, this was the nasty long plastic bit that she picked up and hit Tyrone with, over and over again. The next day he’s battered and bruised and applying pain relief in the garage when Tina finds him and he confides that Kirsty’s beating him up. But as he swears her to secrecy, Tina doesn’t say a word. It’s a difficult position for Tina to be in but not half as difficult as the one Tyrone’s in, poor lad. Kirsty makes Tyrone go to the pub and while he’s out in the Rovers, she packs to leave and calls a cab. Tyrone arrives back at the house before the cab and there’s tears as he begs her not to leave him, but she’s honest in that she says he’s too good for her and that’s why she has to go, she hates herself for hitting him and can’t live with him because she loves him so much And with that, she went. But fear not, she’ll be back. Oh yes, she will be back.
Over at Roy’s Rolls, scary Mary helps out Roy in the caff. Well, his wife Hayley’s away, mum Sylvia’s gone to America and Anna’s on a day off so Roy’s on his own and grateful for her help. Mental Mary invites Roy to an Elgar concert and she gets all giddy with excitement when Roy says he’ll go with her and stay overnight in a hotel. But while scary Mary’s dreaming of a romantic musical getaway Roy puts paid to that dream when he tells her that while she’s only booked two rooms in the hotel, he’s booked three tickets for the concert as Hayley’s coming with them. That is, until, Hayley has to pull out because of a dancing competition she and Norris are taking part in, leaving Roy at the hands of a rather deranged Mary in a hotel overnight. Will he ever be the same again?
