SECRETS AND LIES: It turns out that Steven Beale has had more than one secret: the second is that while everyone has been tearing their hair out looking for Lucy, he knew where she was all along. He was keeping her in a caravan park. He has convinced her that no one misses her and she should leave the country. He books her a ticket to Paris, but Pat discovers the ruse, so he tries to suffocate her with a pillow as she lies in a hospital bed with a broken leg, fearing she’ll tell Ian. But Ian already suspects and catches them at the airport, convincing Lucy that it is Steven who has been lying to her. She returns home to mope around the Square, while Ian tells Steven to disappear forever...

Across the Square...Roxie is up the duff and not sure whether the daddy is Sean or Ronnie’s boyfriend, Jack, but she’s claiming Sean because she doesn’t want Ronnie to know of her fling with Jack. But she wants no relationship with Sean, even though Sean, after hearing the news, instantly turns himself around, gets a job and straightens up. Little does he know that Roxy is planning to immigrate to Ibiza to escape him. Roxy’s pregnancy makes Ronnie think about the baby she gave up for adoption as a teen...

With Gus gone, Wellard is now back with the Jacksons...Chelsea, upset about the reappearance of her Dad, is doing drugs...Libby and Darren continue to misunderstand each other...Ricky has moved into Pat’s gaff along with Bianca and her collection of misfits...

Elsewhere, the happy (?) newlyweds Heather and Minty return from their honeymoon and it seems their friends all have a morbid curiosity as to whether they consummated their marriage or not. Turns out, NOT. They do seem chipper anyway, but Heather is desperate to seduce Minty. Everything changes though, when Garry picks up two flight attendants, invites them over for a party and convinces Minty to tag along. The birds insist on playing Spin the Bottle (even though they look a lot older than 12), and Heather walks in on dumb Minty in a lip lock, and dumps him, saying she is looking for something better...

Attention WLIW Viewers!:PBS Station, WLIW/ Channel 21 in New York, has set the date for their next EastEnders Pledge Night: It will be Friday, September 12, 10pm-11:20pm. (that’s two episodes and a pledge break)

It will then be repeated from 11:50pm-1:10am (with the “Visions of New York” program sandwiched in between. Don’t you wish they’d do a Visions of Walford?) What will be new: At press time, WLIW is still working on getting great Pledge Premium Gifts together for you rabid Easties. So far, they include a great new EastEnders tote bag and a Screening Party (If you’ve never been to one, you MUST!). In addition, we’ve been gathering memorabilia items to offer and don’t know quite yet all that we’ll have, or how exactly they’ll be presented. But so far we have a few great items (including an Albert Square street sign and a script).

Keeping the show on the air in New York is all up to YOU! So please tune in and pledge. (If you cannot tune in during the LIVE show, you can go to the WLIW website afterwards and pledge on-line: www.wliw.org. Just make sure you order a Pledge Premium gift, to insure your pledge counts for EastEnders.)
